Celtic fans are not happy with Lee Congerton as frustrating summer continues

Celtic’s disappointing summer transfer window is currently showing no signs of improvement, and Bhoys fans on Twitter are running out of patience with head of recruitment Lee Congerton, who has been in the role since March 2017.

While the Scottish Premiership holders made Odsonne Eduoard’s loan move permanent, brought Emilio Izaguirre back to the club and signed Scott Bain from Dundee United, they are yet to replace Patrick Roberts and Charly Musonda following their returns to Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, while they are also yet to find a successor for Stuart Armstrong after he left for Southampton.

They also lost out on long-term target John McGinn to Aston Villa, while they face a battle to keep Dedryck Boyata at Celtic Park following a disagreement between the club and the Belgium international’s agent, which will all surely have left manager Brendan Rodgers frustrated.

Celtic supporters, who have vented their frustrations at their club’s latest transfer decision, have been quick to have their say on Congerton via social media, and while one simply said “get rid”, another said “it’s time for Brendan to replace him”.
