Celtic fans are very optimistic over Karamoko Dembele

Karamoko Dembele is a rising star at Celtic, and some fans are showing a lot of optimism over his future following his latest promotion.

Dembele is just 15-years-old but featured for the senior side’s reserve team against Partick Thistle in the Glasgow Cup, having first appeared on the scene two years prior when a then 13-year-old Londoner came off the bench for the Celtic Under 20s.

Yesterday’s outing was the teenagers first start for any Celts senior side, and capped it with a goal after 13-minutes to make the score 3-0.

While wearing the number 7 jersey, the youngster scored what has been described as a fantastic solo effort, and instantly brought fresh optimism from Hoops fans.

Those calling for a senior first team appearance for the winger may not have that long to wait, either, with Dembele turning 16 in February, though a senior contract will need to be drawn up to prevent rival clubs poaching their star.

More pressingly, manager Brendan Rodgers previous comments on the inclusion of a 16-year-old will come into question.

“Absolutely. From a talent perspective I could probably put Karamoko Dembele in to the first team right now,” the Daily Mail quoted Rodgers as saying.

“I have to think about where he is at in terms of his maturation level. Not just his talent level.”

Regardless, some fans are happy to get carried away in the teenage sensation’s progress.
