Celtic have announced their fourth signing of the summer and the fans are far from pleased with the arrival of Hatem Abd Elhamed.

Abd Elhamed arrives from Hapoel Be'er Sheva for a reported fee of £1.6m. The Israeli can play all across the back four but the club have labelled him a right-back in their official announcement.

The 28-year-old joins Christopher Jullien, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo and Luca Connell in coming to Parkhead this summer.

His arrival means that the club have splashed out in excess of £11m on new faces in this window.

The right-back spot has been a bone of contention for the Celtic supporters, having seen Mikael Lustig, Cristian Gamboa and Jeremy Toljan depart the club.

The defender was ineligible for Wednesday night's comfortable 5-0 over Nomme Kalju in the Champions League qualifiers. Yet, he should be ready for Maccabi Tel-Avi or Cluj in the next round.
