Celtic recorded a thumping 5-0 win over Hearts on Wednesday night to strengthen their position in the race for the SPFL.Rangers stumbled to a 2-1 defeat away at Kilmarnock on the same evening as the Hoops opened up a 10-point gap at the summit of the division. Both Jozo Simunovic and Christopher Jullien bagged goals for the hosts in the demolition, leaving Kristoffer Ajer as the only central defender not to find the net on the night.
And while the visitors hardly mustered up much by way of a coherent goal threat, some fans were left concerned by Ajer's display.
In the aftermath of proceedings, Neil Lennon claimed the 21-year-old has been a consistent player this season and praised his willingness to influence the game in the final-third, per Celtic's official website.
"You had Kris Ajer at the end galloping down the right wing. He showed another side to his game as well. Heâs been so consistent this season."
But not everyone was on the same page as the manager in their assessment as the 14-cap international was criticised for both his ability in the air and his recent form, while one even said he's more of a worry than Simunovic.
There was another fan, though, who enjoyed the central defender's marauding run down the right wing.
Indeed, the enthused supporter took a swipe at those fans who have called for Ajer to be sold in the past and suggested he's perpetually improving.
Considering he will turn 22 in April, there's no doubt the best years are ahead of him yet.
Another fan, meanwhile, made a comparison between Jullien and Virgil van Dijk but that claim was dismissed, with both the Frenchman and his Norwegian defensive partner labelled as too soft to be compared with the Liverpool star.
Standing at just shy of 6ft 5, Ajer possesses a stature that should allow him to hold his own against imposing centre-forwards, but it appears he needs to work on the physical side of his game to win over the entirety of the fanbase.
Finally, one fan simply admired the defender's reaction to hearing news of the Rangers result at Paradise on Wednesday...
In other news, fans have reacted to Simon Jordan's revelation about a move south of the border for Celtic and Rangers which never happened...
