Emilio Izaguirre is well known among the Celtic fanbase given that he spent seven years playing for the club.

The left-back racked up 252 appearances for the Scottish outfit before leaving to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Feiha last summer.

In a bizarre turn of events, the Honduras international has decided to return to Celtic Park to play under Brendan Rodgers on a one-year contract.

Kieran Tierney is currently first choice at left-back, and it is highly unlikely that he will be shifted from that position.

With that in mind, Izaguirre's arrival will be to provide cover when needed across the season.

The 32-year-old is the third arrival in what has been a quiet transfer window so far for the Bhoys.

Rodgers has recruited goalkeeper Scott Bain on a free transfer, as well as attacker Odsonne Edouard following a loan spell.

Izaguirre was given a fond farewell when he decided to leave Celtic last year, but the 32-year-old's return has not been met with much joy.

A large number of fans have been left baffled by the decision to bring him back.
