Celtic suffered another damaging evening away from home in Europe on Thursday night, thrashed 3-0 by FC Zenit in the UEFA Europa League and dumped out of the competition.

Despite their impressive 1-0 win over the Russians at Celtic Park last week, the Hoops were no match for Roberto Mancini's side in the second leg, finding themselves two down within half an hour.

With the tie put to bed by Aleksandr Kokorin in the 61st minute, it was a long evening for Celtic supporters who were left to soul search and wonder where it all went wrong after such a strong performance at home.

Much of the criticism was aimed at defender Mikael Lustig, a player who, frankly, looked out of his depth in the match, struggling to deal with anything the Russians threw at him and being badly caught out for the third goal.

The Swede has contributed a lot to the Hoops over the years but at 31 is looking well past his best and fans are now calling for him to be axed in upcoming matches, finally losing patience with him.
