Celtic fans have gone off the idea of signing David Turnbull

David Turnbull’s potential move to Celtic has hit a serious snag after The Scottish Sun reported the Motherwell midfielder is asking for close to £20,000-a-week to make the switch to Celtic Park – and that has lead to a major u-turn on the starlet’s potential arrival amongst the club’s supporters.

The Hoops publicly agreed a record-breaking deal with Motherwell last week to open negotiations with the player, but it seems that the midfielder and his agents have since decided to play hardball and it remains to be seen whether a compromise can be reached.

Leigh Griffiths is ready and raring to go for Celtic next season. One fan discusses what we can expect from him in the video below…

Turnbull is a real talent and lit up the Scottish Premiership last season, but the reported figures now being asked for are not in line with the current wage structure at the Hoops, with The Scottish Sun believing many current stars of the club’s successful ‘treble treble’ team are earning less than that despite having more experience.

Celtic fans were incredibly excited about the idea of Turnbull joining the club’s ranks but it seems many have now gone off the idea due to his demands – some believing it’s a sign he doesn’t have the kind of commitment required to pull on the Hoops.

These supporters have taken to Twitter over the last 48 hours to share their thoughts and it’s safe to say opinions on Turnbull have dramatically changed…
