Celtic fans hope they’ve seen the last of Jeremy Toljan

Celtic supporters weren’t impressed with the performance of Jeremy Toljan at Celtic Park on Sunday, despite the Scottish champions winning 2-1 against Hearts.

The Hoops were celebrating their eight-in-a-row triumph on trophy day, with manager Neil Lennon choosing to make a number of changes to the starting eleven in anticipation of next week’s Scottish Cup final against the same opposition.

On loan from Borussia Dortmund, Toljan hasn’t had the most successful spell on loan at the Hoops, rarely getting good reviews for his displays in his 14 appearances since January.

With Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney both battling fitness issues ahead of next week there’s every chance this wasn’t the 24-year-old’s last too, although plenty of fans are hoping that they’ve seen the end of him in a Celtic shirt.

The right-back position is a real priority heading into the transfer window and supporters will be hoping the club can invest in a quality first-team pick to replace Lustig and Toljan.
