Celtic ensured they got back to winning ways on Wednesday night, beating Partick Thistle comfortably in the Scottish Premiership at Celtic Park.
After seeing their 69-game unbeaten run to an end on Sunday, it was important that Brendan Rodgers’ side bounced back immediately with a win and they duly delivered with goals from Stuart Armstrong and Kieran Tierney enough to secure the win.
The 2-0 victory means they move five points clear of Aberdeen at the top of the table, with the two sides due to meet this weekend in a massive festive clash.
Rodgers named largely the same side from the weekend, despite the heavy defeat, relying on stars who contributed massively to their unbeaten record.
One player did get a big chance though and that was 19-year-old Kristoffer Ajer. The Norwegian youngster started just his eighth game of the season, replacing Jozo Simunovic, and managed to impress supporters who have been critical of the defence recently.
Fans are now calling for him to get more games in the Hoops team, believing he could be the kind of player they need to settle down a shaky defensive line.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…
Kris Ajer impressive again tonight 🍀

Plenty to be positive about tonight. The goal certainly gave us a lift. Feel a hell of alot more confident with Ajer in there
Not really much more could of been done against a team with 11 in the box

Why isn't Ajer playing more?

The more I see of Ajer the more I like. He offers us something different coming out of defence.
Would like to see him tested against better opposition though.
I wonder if Brendan trusts him enough to put him in on Saturday?

Ajer should be a regular starter for me. Looks so composed on the ball and can actually win a heeder

Ajer is ready, he reads the game so well and when he steps out there is no sense of panic or danger, he is the defender we have been needing. Ajer and new guy could be the steady partnership we need.

Ajer played well again tonight. I really hope to see him get a run of games. Good footballer

Big Ajer is a special, and imo the only CB we have who is good with the ball at his feet. Get him in there and give him a run of games and we’re jamming
