Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Celtic striker Moussa Dembele will be on the bench for the club's crucial Champions League qualifier second leg against AEK Athens tonight and fans have been buzzing for his potential return on Twitter.

The 22-year-old has had a thigh issue since July and has missed five games for the Hoops, so won't be rushed back by Rodgers.

Dembele scored two in his side's second leg victory in the first qualifying round for the Champions League against Armenian side Alashkert Yerevan. The ex-Fulham hitman signed for Celtic on a free transfer in the summer of 2016.

The Frenchman now has 50 goals in 90 games for the Bhoys and nine goals in 14 games for the U21s at international level so could make a crucial difference off the bench in Greece, with the score poised at 1-1 after the first leg in Glasgow.
