Celtic fans pleased to see Scott Sinclair still at the club after English deadline

The English transfer window has come and gone and Scott Sinclair remains a Celtic player, much to the delight of the supporters.

The winger was left out of Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier against Cluj with Neil Lennon admitting there was interest in his player to BBC Sport.

Despite Sinclair’s absence, the Celts picked up a handy 1-1 draw in Romania, with James Forrest’s strike levelling the tie after a Mario Rondon opener, giving the Bhoys that all-important away goal.

According to The Scottish Sun, the 30-year-old had been a target for Premier League new-boys Sheffield United. With their transfer window now firmly shut, Sinclair should be a Celtic player this season.

And the fans are certainly glad he didn’t depart at the 11th hour of the window. The supporters know how good he can be – his first two seasons are evidence enough – and think he can still be a key player for the club this season.

Here are the best reactions from the Celtic fans on Twitter…
