The conversation concerning Celtic and Rangers' position in the SPFL and their relentless domination of the top-flight has persisted for many years.

Such is the gulf in class between the top two and the rest of the division, the prospect of both the Bhoys and the Gers moving into English football has been touted on a regular basis.

A report from the Scottish Sun earlier this year claimed Celtic and Rangers set the wheels in motion to leave Scottish football back in 2011, but ultimately their plan never came to fruition.

Back in 2016, Football League clubs rejected the idea of allowing Celtic, Rangers and Premier League B teams enter a new 100-team professional structure comprising of four 20-team tiers rather than three 24-team ones, per Telegraph.

Yet the two Scottish giants remain firmly tied to the SPFL and there is little indication that is set to change anytime soon.

But former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has revealed while speaking to talkSPORT that he was an advocate of Celtic and Rangers moving south of the border around 2002/03, though he also confirmed he'd have made the clubs pay a bounty of £100m each to move to the Championship.

In response to his quotes, these Bhoys were equally enthused by the idea of moving into English football even with the quoted figure in mind.

One fan suggested that the club have a significant chunk of that fee sitting in the bank anyway, while another pointed towards the logic behind the investment, claiming the club would have made a 100% return on their initial investment within just two years.

Finally, though, one fan through a slanderous dig in the direction of English football, alluding to the rise in tourist and corporate spectators amid a recent influx in foreign investors.
