Celtic’s chances of clinching a ninth successive Scottish Premiership title have been bolstered this weekend as they move 12 points clear of their nearest challengers.
Neil Lennon’s men came from behind to defeat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Celtic Park to edge closer to the crown.
The visitors netted a sixth-minute penalty to give the Bhoys an early scare but the lead only lasted 22 minutes as Kristoffer Ajer bundled home an equaliser before Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths wrapped things up.
Now fans have been praising the opening goalscorer for his impressive contribution throughout the match.
Here’s what has been said…
I thought Ajer was class today as well as Taylor. Another good win and performance apart from first 5/10 mins

Kris Ajer is an absolute steam train

Ajer and McGregor were standouts. Some great football played today.

Oh defiantly there’s more to come from him. He’s getting better and better with every game and the same as Ajer. 2 class acts tbh and if we can get jozo fully injury free he be the same

We didn’t sign Denyar but it doesn’t matter cause we’ve got Kris Ajer

A love everytime people moan about Ajer he always does something to shut them up, same people who bash Ajer bashed Lennon and now heS put us ahead during Aberdeen and Kilmarnock. His defending is shakey at points during Copenhagen but so was our entire midfield. Big Ajers the man

An array of superlatives were used to describe the Norwegian’s showing, including “class” and “amazing” while one supporter went as far as calling the 6 foot 6 giant an “absolute steam train” which is no surprise given his stature.
Another fan said it doesn’t matter that they did not secure Jason Denayer permanently as the 21-year-old has stepped up in his place this season.
There were even claims from some sections of the Hoops faithful to see Ajer take up a central midfield role going forward.
Lennon gets a hard time from lots (including me at times) but our form in 2020 has been excellent. Not a fan of 2 up front usually but 3 at the back with Ajer coming into midfield suits us and works well. 👏🏼

Big Kris Ajer 2 in 2
Like 2 C him @centremid

Would quite like to see big Ajer in there.🤔

It appears as if the system deployed by Neil Lennon on Sunday afternoon allowed the titan to drift into midfield from a back three at times, and the supporters above would like to see more of it.
There was even a massive call for Ajer to be Scott Brown’s replacement in the skipper’s role when the stalwart finally decides to hang up his boots.
Ajer can be Scot Brown's replacement in that midfield role. An absolute colossus of a player.

That was Ajer’s second goal in as many games for Celtic, so he’s clearly having an influence at either end of the pitch, the “absolute colossus.”
