Loads of Celtic fans have been discussing the future of Dedryck Boyata, after the defender scored the only goal in the Hoops’ 1-0 win over Hamilton.
It’s been a bit of a topsy-turvy start to the season for Brendan Rodgers and Celtic, and fans are absolutely desperate for a new signing at centre back.
While no one is particularly fond of the “like a new signing” cliché, that’s exactly what Boyata could be, as the Belgian buried the game’s only goal in Sunday’s win.
The defender blotted his copybook when he ruled himself out of the Champions League clash in Athens, claiming he was injured.

The fans unveiled a banner reading “not fit to wear the shirt” regarding those attempts to force a move away from the club, and a goal and three points is probably just about the only way to win them back.
Fans are now split on his future, as some suspect he may have been misguided by a greedy agent.
Others are slightly less forgiving though, so it may take a few more winning goals before the 27 year-old is in everyone’s good books again.

If BR decides he deserves a new deal then I'd keep him

He needs to accept responsibility for his own actions.

As I said earlier, I believe he was badly advised. Has realised this now, & whether he stays or goes, the fact he sacked the agent who put forth the statement & lies about BR is testimony to that fact. So I would be fine if he stayed, extending his contract.

Needs to apologise – his non appearance in Athens was disgraceful

If he cuts lafferty in half next Sunday then maybe…

Idk his behaviour was a disgrace, I didn’t boo him coz that ain’t gonna help the team but atm he doesn’t deserve to wear the Jersey and can see why the GB felt the need for the banner, however if he publicly apologises and signs a new deal I mite change my mind

Blaming the agent is up there with I was misinterpreted whilst speaking to a French football magazine. The problem isn’t forgiveness it’s will we forget? And I don’t think we will so every miss pass or missed header will be met by a a huge call of dissent. Sorry time to go

Did his agent feign a back injury or was that Boyata himself?

Aye ! Defo think his agent was behind this. He’s our best defender. If he scores the winner next week, it will be forgotten about ! 🍀
