Celtic threw away a one-goal lead against Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday evening to lose their Europa League group stage tie 3-1 in Austria.
Brendan Rodgers’ side took an early lead through Odsonne Edouard but fell apart in the second half, conceding three goals and seeing James Forrest sent off in the process.
The result leaves the Bhoys likely facing a straight shootout with the Austrian side for second spot in the group behind RB Leipzig, who Celtic face in a double-header after the international break as they seek to get their European campaign back on track.
Fans are already calling for changes to be made after assessing the performances of the players selected last night, and many took to social media to criticise Olivier Ntcham after the Frenchman struggled in the 3-1 defeat.
Ntcham’s poor passing and control of the ball contributed to the frustration of fans, with many wondering if he is already eyeing an exit. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Ntcham having a shocker

This has been a shocker of a first half for Celtic …. Only lively player for us trying to break them down has been Forrest…. Broony and Rogic have been alright too …. Olivier Ntcham was having a shocker before that red card… pure stupidity … we need to buck up 🍀👍🇮🇪

It appears to me that Edouard and Ntcham maybe at Celtic in person, however, mentally, they both seem to have left the club the day Dembele did. It's not good enough.

Ntcham and to a lesser extent Forrest were not covering runners as they should, that left Lustig deciding who to try to cover. He ain't good at lateral thinking.

Last night was another example of how poor our midfield have become. The defensive issues go without saying, but midfield wise we are awful. Ntcham, McGregor and Rogic have been dire all season, bar the Rangers game. The work rate, desire, ability to track, make runs, pass a ball

Anyone think ntcham is missing dembele cos he’s not been himself recently and why he kept drifting out wide I do not know? He’s got to stay more central to help mulumbu. Just felt he was too wide at times mainly right which left big hole in the middle.

Celtic really missed Dembele tonight, no target man as an option against the press. No Brown meant no midfield short pass option for keeper. Ntcham poor, didn't step. #celtic
