Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 11 points on Tuesday night, winning away to Glasgow rivals Partick Thistle at Firhill.

The Jags made their visitors work for the victory with Conor Sammon netting in the first half to give them a 1-0 lead heading into the break.

Brendan Rodgers' side rallied in the second half though, inspired by substitute Leigh Griffiths who was introduced at half-time.

Scott Sinclair got the equaliser after converting a penalty in the 55th minute before Griffiths himself finished smartly 20 minutes from time to secure all three points for the reigning champions.

Griffiths has started just two matches since the start of December with Rodgers opting to play the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele instead.

The Scotland international has certainly given his chances of starting this weekend a big boost though and that's something supporters are keen to see with many taking to Twitter to enthuse about his performance...
