Celtic fans enjoyed seeing striker Vakoun Bayo in action for the first-team on Saturday, as Neil Lennon’s side ran out 2-1 winners over Austrian outfit Wiener SC.
Bayo has only played a few minutes of competitive action for the Hoops since January after suffering an injury that ruled him out of making an impact towards the end of last season.
Celtic fans aren’t happy about Arsenal’s bid for one of their key players…
Signed after a prolific period of scoring with Slovakian top-flight side Dunajska Streda, he’s one of three senior strikers at the club currently alongside Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.
The 22-year-old scored the winner on Saturday with a classy finish on the half volley, coming towards the end of a solid 45 minutes that suggests he can play a competent back up role to the first-choice Edouard.
It’ll now be interesting to see where he fits into Lennon’s plans moving forward as the club continue to prepare for European qualifiers in July and August.
