Celtic have been heavily linked with a number of new strikers since the January transfer window reopened for business.

Following a fortnight of speculation, it appears Neil Lennon is set to secure his first deal of the window so far, with Patryk Klimala on the brink of joining the club.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hoops will sign the 21-year-old in a £3.5m deal which sees the new striker penning a four-and-a-half year deal.

Odsonne Edouard is the undisputed first choice striker at the club but the presence of an alternative option could give the club a vital boost in their bid to clinch a ninth straight SPFL title.

However, there are plenty of Celtic fans who are unconvinced by the imminent signing's credentials and they took to Twitter to suggest this is a poor deal for the club.

In fact, a handful of fans have suggested the Hoops are set to welcome the wrong player to Paradise as they cited Andraz Sporar and Tino Kadewere - two strikers linked with January moves - as players they should have signed instead.

Given the respective records of both players, it's easy to understand why fans were feeling disappointed with the signing of Klimala over Sporar.

The former has scored seven goals in 17 appearances so far this season while the latter has managed 20 in 26.

Sporar also has experience on his side at 25 years of age, but reports suggest he's snubbed a move to Celtic in favour of Sporting Lisbon, per The Scotsman.

And in a similar vein to the fans above, there were plenty of others who suggested this is a misguided signing for the club, with two members of the Hoops faithful citing his stats as reason to suggest he's the wrong man for the club.
