Celtic set to land long term target Premier League star

Celtic could be set to land Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak when the transfer window opens next month, according to the Daily Record.

The Czech Republic striker has failed to command a regular starting berth at Villa Park under either Paul Lambert, Tim Sherwood or new boss Remi Garde.

Reports suggest the Midlands outfit are prepared to cut all ties with the 26-year old forward next month, clearing the way for Celtic to swoop for him.

The towering marksman joined the club in September 2013 from Lazio, though his time there has been blighted by injuries.

With his deal due to expire at the end of the season, Bhoys chief Ronny Deila is expected to firm up his initial interest in the player and try to sign him next month.

The Parkhead club had been linked with the 6ft 3 target man while he was plying his trade in the Italian capital and are understood to still be monitoring his situation.
