According to the Daily Mail, Brighton and Hove Albion are preparing an £18m bid for Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.

Since transferring from Fulham to Celtic at the start of the 2016-17 season, the Frenchman has been in prolific form for the Scottish champions scoring a commendable 40 goals in 67 appearances.

The Seagulls’ supporters can only dream of such ruthlessness in front of goal, and aside from West Brom and Swansea, no team have scored fewer goals than Brighton in the league this season.

To contextualise the extent of Brighton’s woes in front of goal, a 34-year-old Glen Murray is their top goalscorer in the Premier League. Without question, their need for goals is urgent, and perhaps Moussa Dembele will be the individual to provide a timely solution for Chris Hughton’s team.
