Brendan Rodgers’ clear out in the Celtic squad has continued with striker Stefan Scepovic having been sold to Getafe for £1million, according to Sky Sports.
Earlier this month, the Serbian expressed his desire to leave the club and he has now got his wish. The player was signed for £2.3million back in 2014, but the 26-year-old did not manage to establish himself under Ronny Deila after scoring just six goals in 26 appearances for the Scottish club.
He was allowed to leave on loan and joined Getafe last summer and although the Spanish side were relegated to the second division, Scepovic impressed enough to get a permanent move. He made 34 league appearances in La Liga last season, scoring six goals.
Scepovic is the fourth striker to depart Celtic Park this summer after the exits of Carlton Cole and Anthony Stokes on free transfers, and Colin Kazim-Richards to Brazilian side Coritiba.
The arrival of Moussa Dembele will, however, help improve the support for 40-goal striker Leigh Griffiths going in to the new season.
