Celtic veteran set for MLS move after losing starting role

Celtic left back Emilio Izaguirre could be leaving the Scottish club to join MLS outfit Toronto FC, reports Eurosport Italy.

The 30 year old has seen has game time limited this season after the emergence of teenage sensation Kieran Tierney, and the Honduran made a farewell appearance after coming on as a second half substitute in the 7-0 rout against Motherwell at the weekend.

The Canadian side have had a reasonable start to their season in Major League Soccer, currently sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference.

They have managed four wins, two draws and four defeats in their opening 10 matches and will be hoping to reach the play-offs this campaign.

With Scottish Young Player of the Year Tierney taking his position, Izaguirre has had just 14 league starts this season and he will be ending a six year stay at Celtic Park after more than 150 league appearances in the green and white hoops should he leave.
