According to a report in The Sun, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will be Leicester City's top target to replace Claude Puel if they sack the Frenchman in the near future, and losing the Northern Irishman would surely see the Bhoys all but concede the Scottish Premiership title to arch-rivals Rangers.

What's the word, then?

Well, the Foxes boss is coming under increased pressure from the King Power Stadium faithful for his tactics and the club's results, and despite impressive wins over the festive period the east Midlands outfit have lost at home to Premier League strugglers Cardiff City and Southampton, and been knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two Newport County.

The Sun report that the 57-year-old could go if his team loses to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday, and that the hierarchy want Rodgers to replace him.

The report adds that Leicester would need to pay around £1m in compensation to prise the former Liverpool manager away from Parkhead, and he himself is eyeing a return to the English top flight after two-and-a-half years in north of the border.

Good news for Rangers?

It would be colossal for Steven Gerrard and his men.

While Celtic clearly have a playing squad good enough to win yet another Scottish Premiership title ahead of their enemy, the potential upheaval caused by a mid-season manager change would surely affect the Bhoys' chances considerably.

Remember, the Gers are only behind their Glasgow neighbours on goal difference right now as the end of the winter break approaches this weekend, and the arrivals of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis this month have only strengthened their credentials.

Losing Rodgers would be a catastrophic blow for Celtic, and would surely see them concede the title to Gerrard and his team.
