Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney is wanted by both Inter Milan and Napoli this summer, per the Daily Mirror’s live blog (09:40).

What’s the word?

Tierney has endured an injury-hit season this term, playing just 20 times in the Scottish top-flight.

A hip problem sustained mid-season saw him miss a total of 12 games in the middle of the season; Celtic, though, lost just twice in that run, in the Old Firm derby against Rangers and versus Hibernian.

He is reportedly set to undergo an operation this summer to correct a hernia issue but that has not stopped clubs expressing an interest.

Can do without him

Celtic will cope without Tierney and should cash in this summer.

This is perhaps the finest player to come through the ranks at the club in recent years but, as evidenced by his absence, Celtic coped just fine when he was out.

He is by far the most expensive asset the club have and, if a new manager is installed this summer, it would make sense for the money to be reinvested.

Tierney, too, would surely jump at the chance to test himself against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi in Serie A.

There should be no panic, then, if a transfer is arranged this summer.
