Celtic have suffered their first injury setback of the international break, as Kieran Tierney has withdrawn from the Scotland squad.

Tierney was thought to be questionable to face Albania in the Nations League on Saturday, and the Celtic ace has now pulled out of the Scotland squad.

The 21-year-old’s injury has not been specified, while BBC simply reports that he was sent back to Celtic Park following medical advice.

However, there is certainly some controversy surrounding the “injuries” in the Scotland camp, as Tierney is now the ninth player to withdraw from the squad.

Plenty of fans suspect the players have given up on Alex McLeish, as Scotland sit second in their Nations League group behind Israel.

It could also be down to Tierney not wanting to play out of his natural position, as the Scotland boss has struggled to shoehorn him into the side alongside Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.

Either way, Celtic fans will be praying the injury is not serious (or perhaps not an injury at all), as Brendan Rodgers' full back options could soon be running very thin.
