Rotherham’s new manager Alan Stubbs is targeting Celtic’s Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes as two of his first signings at the English Championship club, according to the Scottish Sun.
32-year-old Commons has been out of favour at the Scottish champions for a while, and with a year left on his contract Brendan Rodgers could look to cash in on the player as he plots to reshape his squad.
The attacking midfielder had spells in the Championship at Nottingham Forest and at Derby County, where he played with Stubbs in 2008.
Whether he is keen to join up with his old team-mate at the Yorkshire club will depend on whether he has a future at Parkhead.
Stokes meanwhile is also said to be on Stubbs’ hit-list.
He spent last season with the new Millers boss at Hibernian on loan and although the Irishman has said he is keen to stay at Celtic Park to create a potent strike partnership with Leigh Griffiths, like Commons, his future is far from certain.
