Celtic will have another representative at next summer’s World Cup in Russia after Tom Rogic’s Australia breezed past Honduras in a massive play-off qualifier on Wednesday.
Rogic follows in the footsteps of Hoops teammate Mikael Lustig who earlier this week secured qualification with his Sweden side.
With the aggregate score from the first leg deadlocked at 0-0 heading into the match in Sydney, the ‘Socceroos’ had to guard against away goals, but ended up blitzing the Hondurans 3-1, with the visitors having to settle for a late consolation goal.
Midfielder Rogic was at the heart of the action and it was his excellent dribble that led to the free-kick which result in the opening goal from hat-trick hero Mile Jedinak.
Australian football fans were in awe of his performance with many claiming on social media he was the best player on the pitch. Celtic fans who managed to watch the match were also delighted to see him thrive in such an important game.
Supporters across the world took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…

There have been some brilliant @Socceroos to watch over the years, but geez Tom Rogic is up there. Honduran defenders leave here inside out.

Tom Rogic's goal my friends. Beats opponents, breaks the lines, puts defenders under pressure. He's been brilliant all night. #AUSvHON
