After Celtic had to pay compensation to get him off their books following three injury plagued seasons, you may have thought that any club would think twice about signing him, but former Hoops winger Derk Boerrigter is hoping that a move to the United States is on the cards.
His agent Soren Lerby told the Scottish Sun: “Derk is fully fit now and training hard on his own.
“We are open minded about finding a new club, but we are focusing on getting a new team for the start of next season.
“He’s open to all offers. America would be a nice opportunity for him. Derk’s up for a new adventure.”
Boerrigter signed from Ajax for £3million back in 2013 but only made eight starts in three seasons at Celtic Park, almost all of which came in his first season at the club after a series of injuries hampered his appearances in the Scottish league.
Now 29, Boerrigter will be hoping that his injury troubles are behind him as he looks to start a new phase of his career in MLS.
Meanwhile, Celtic are now eight points ahead of second placed Aberdeen after beating Motherwell 2-1 at the weekend.
