Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to hammer Jonny Hayes for his display against Aberdeen.
The 32-year-old didn’t start the game, but was forced to enter the fray following an injury to Greg Taylor in the 25th minute.
On his 14th Scottish Premiership appearance of the campaign, however, things didn’t go to plan for Hayes as Aberdeen found an equaliser just two minutes after he was introduced, with the cross for the goal coming from his side of the pitch.
Luckily for the experienced Irishman, Kristoffer Ajer managed to grab a winner with just nine minutes of normal time remaining, a goal which kept the Bhoys at the top of the table and extended their lead over Rangers to 13 points before Steven Gerrard’s men began their game against Livingston.
Celtic’s next outing sees them take on Danish outfit Copenhagen in the Europa League Round of 32, and if Hayes is anywhere near the starting XI on Thursday, one presumes that these supporters won’t be too happy on the basis of their response to his performance against Aberdeen.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the former MK Dons player on Twitter…
You could give Jonny Hayes two pieces of wood and he still couldn’t fashion a decent cross.

Any the boys in the stand got a spare seat next to them for Johnny Hayes?
— Cal (@CMcCeltic) February 16, 2020
To kick off the reaction, these two supporters were scathing in their criticism of Hayes.
One fan said that you could give the Dublin-born player two pieces of wood and he’d still struggle to “fashion a decent cross”.
Then, Cal simply labelled the Celtic No.15 as a “competition winner” – ouch.
Hayes just isn’t anywhere near good enough to play for Celtic.

Hayes should not be playing for Celtic football club. I don’t care how many injuries there are.

Elsewhere, @P_Livi said that the 4-cap Ireland international “just isn’t anywhere near good enough” to play for the reigning Scottish champions.
@Ryxn47 then said that Hayes “should not be playing for” Neil Lennon’s side, adding that they don’t care how many injuries there are.
How you can look at Johnny Hayes and Shved and think “hmm, I’ll play Hayes”. Worst player in a celtic shirt in years. #ReleaseShved

Hayes is hopeless. Ntcham posted missing also. Celtic need to raise the levels second half. Poor so far. Aberdeen are a long ball team relying on the wind.
— Eddie van Coupon (@coupon_eddie) February 16, 2020
Lastly, Cathal Sloan branded the former Leicester City man as the “worst player in a Celtic shirt in years” – harsh criticism indeed.
Then, Eddie van Coupon simply labelled Hayes as “hopeless” while also taking aim at Olivier Ntcham as well.
In other news, a journalist has made a big prediction regarding Neil Lennon’s potential tactics against Copenhagen…
