As reported by The Daily Record, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is set to make first team changes for the visit of St Johnstone on Sunday, with a potential return for attacking midfielder Tom Rogic on the cards.

What's the story?

Celtic's domestic results and performances this season have fallen below supporters' expectations and Tommy Wright's side are set to give the Bhoys a tough test tomorrow.

The Hoops were in tremendous form against FC Zenit on Thursday but having expended lots of energy to secure the result, it will be difficult to raise their game again to see off the Saints just days later.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that despite victory last week against Partick Thistle he was disappointed with what he saw from his first team and he's set to make changes tomorrow.

One man in line to make an appearance is Australian international Tom Rogic.

As quoted by The Daily Record, Rodgers said:

We had a review after last week’s Partick game, as we always do. I wasn’t happy with our concentration in that game. We conceded goals. I know people will say we aren’t tested the same in domestic football, but, for me, it is very important our concentration is there for every single game. When we are concentrated and when it comes to the big games, we don’t tend to lose too many.

Thursday is a vital game, but so is Sunday and I have got players who are champing at the bit to play.

We will be hungry to get the three points and it will be a stuffy game because St Johnstone are organised and make it difficult for you. Some of the boys will come in because others played on Thursday and we are now starting to get one or two back to fitness, the likes of Patrick [Roberts] and Tom [Rogic].

The popular 25-year-old has been out of action since early December but has been an unused substitute in the Hoops' last two fixtures. Is it time for Rogic to shine again?

What does Rogic offer?

Against the tight, packed defences that Celtic face in domestic competition, Tom Rogic can find space and utilise ball control skills at a level beyond almost everyone in the Hoops squad.

Despite limited appearances this season he has scored four goals and provided seven assists, following on from a 18 direct goal contribution last term.

Also possessing a welcome knack for scoring important goals, he's a player that will boost Rodgers' first team massively when he returns.

Against St Johnstone on Sunday, he has the perfect platform to show again why he is so valued by supporters.
