It seems that Celtic are interested in acquiring the services of Bournemouth's Jordon Ibe, and would be willing to take the 24-year-old winger on loan before the market closes later on tonight.

The Athletic's Dominic Fifield has provided an update stating that the player doesn't have a future at his current club and, with his contract ending in six months, he could be available for a relatively small fee.

Even though the player would be keen to move to Crystal Palace, according to the same source, Celtic are in the position to offer him a six-month deal.

Here's the update from Fifield, as posted by The Athletic:

"CRYSTAL PALACE and CELTIC UPDATE - Both clubs are considering moves for Jordon Ibe at AFC Bournemouth, who has entered the final six months of his contract, has no future at the club and is effectively available for a relatively small fee. Ibe is a south Londoner and would be keen to move to Palace, but it is far from certain yet that a deal will be agreed. It is understood Celtic would only be offering a six-month deal at first."

Needless to say, for a player who was brought in for a reported fee of £15m back in 2016 from Liverpool - which also broke the club's record - Ibe has very much been a flop for Bournemouth.

In a total of 92 games the former Liverpool man has managed to bag five goals and nine assists, hardly the type of form you'd expect from a club-record signing.

But if Fifield's update is anything to go by, he could now be offered a way out and have the opportunity to reignite his career at Paradise.
