Manchester City defensive midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali has revealed that he is unaware of any interest from Scottish champions Celtic.
Nwakali’s brother and agent, Allwell Nwakali, told reporters last week that the Bhoys wanted the Nigerian U-20 international on loan.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Norwegian side IK Start, but when asked by Norwegian local newspaper Faedrelandsvennen about the speculation linking him with a move to Scotland, he replied:
“I’m obviously at Start. I enjoy being here… I do not know anything about it.”
Nwakali has been at Manchester City for two years after impressing for Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup.
He has already had two spells on loan in Spain, playing for Malaga’s B side and Girona in the Segunda Division.
His time at Girona was a troubled one though, as he had to wait for a work permit, and then when he was granted permission to play, he did not feature in the first-team.
City cut his loan spell short at the Catalan club and then sent them out on loan to Norway, where he has made 13 appearances so far this season.
