Brendan Rodgers is targeting a move for young Chelsea right back Fakaty Dabo, reports The Sun.
The England Under-20 international has spent the last two seasons in Chelsea’s Under-21 side, but has not made the breakthrough into the first team, and Rodgers is said to have contacted the Premier League side about Dabo’s availability on loan.
Dabo is eligible to play for Sierra Leone, but has made regular appearances for England at youth level playing for the Under-16s, Under-17s and Under-20s.
His game time has been limited at Chelsea as he is too old to play in the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup, but he has captained Chelsea in the U-21 Premier League last campaign.
The 20 year old may feel it is time to move on from Stamford Bridge as, although he was given a squad number near the end of last season as interim manager Guus Hiddink looked to experiment with youth players, he was not allowed any minutes on the pitch in the senior team.
