Celtic signed midfielder Tom Rogic in a £400,000 deal from the Central Coast Mariners in 2013, and there is no doubt that he has proved to be a bargain buy for them.
The Australia international, who is usually deployed in an attacking midfield role by current manager Brendan Rodgers, has scored 32 goals and provided a further 26 assists in 146 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants.
The 25-year-old, who has 41 caps and eight goals for his country and featured for them at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, has two goals and three assists in 14 outings in total for the Bhoys this term even though he has largely been in and out of the starting XI – presumably due to his exertions during the summer and as he looks to recapture his best form.
Given his age, his clear quality and contribution in terms of goals and assists, the fact he is a full international and given he signed a new long-term deal back in May, we at Football FanCast suggested that the Australian ace is now worth at least £15m.
We asked Celtic supporters to vote on our poll to tell us how much they thought the 25-year-old should be valued at, and 60% believe he is worth at least £15m, while 30% of those think Rogic is actually worth more than £20m – as you can see from the results below.
On a long-term contract and in the current transfer climate of over-inflated fees, the Scottish Premiership holders would be well within their rights to hold out for that money if a potential new suitor did come calling anytime soon.
