Since arriving on Merseyside in 2014, Divock Origi’s Liverpool career has not gone to plan. The Belgium international showed flashes of his talent in his early days at Anfield but could never make himself a consistent first team starter for the Reds.

A couple of loan spells away from the club followed as the 23-year-old sought out opportunities for regular football. The football came, but the goals didn’t flow with enough regularity. Now, under Jurgen Klopp, the forward has been completely frozen out.

A change would be the best thing for Origi in January, and plenty of clubs ought to be interested in taking a punt on the out-of-favour striker. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, who signed Origi when he was in charge at Liverpool and under whom the Belgian produced his best football for the Premier League side, would be wise to seek a reunion with his former charge.

If Rodgers could attract Origi to the Scottish champions on loan in the winter transfer window then it would be a timely boost for the Bhoys, and would also give the attacker a chance to rediscover his best form.

When we asked Celtic fans if they thought Origi would be a wise acquisition, 80% voted in favour of it. See the full results below.
