Celtic will be handed a French double boost for the Europa League clashes against Valencia with Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham likely to be available to face the Spanish side.

Edouard managed a 15-minute appearance on Sunday away to St. Johnstone before suffering a foot injury, while Ntcham suffered a hamstring injury in Dubai and has yet to play this year.

On Wednesday night Celtic were without 12 injured first team players but after the 2-0 win over Hibs, Brendan Rodgers was able to deliver some good news on the injury front.

“Olivier Ntcham will hopefully be back towards the weekend, he has been training all week,” the Celtic boss said as quoted BT Sport. “It was brilliant to have Dedryck Boyata back, it is a plus having him back after being out so long, Odsonne Edouard will hopefully be OK by the weekend.”

James Forrest is also in contention for a place on Sunday but it's likely that he will be held back to give him four extra days to prepare for Valencia.

Boyata managed to play 74 minutes in his first outing for a fortnight before being replaced by Nir Bitton.

With Kris Ajer available after suspension for Sunday's match, Rodgers is starting to get competition in key areas even though Filip Benkovic and Kieran Tierney will be missing against Valencia, with the on-loan Leicester City defender expected to be out of action for some time.
