So lacking in centre halves, Rodgers has been forced to play Kristoffer Ajer, ostensibly an attacking midfielder/support striker, in the role alongside Erik Sviatchenko, but the Northern Irishman says although there is no developments currently, he expects some more transfer news in a couple of days:

“Absolutely nothing. Not yet. Hopefully, we’ll see by Wednesday.”

Rodgers’ Celtic side won 1-0 against Austrian side Sturm Graz in their second pre-season friendly yesterday, and they will face Olimpija Ljubljana and Maribor in two more friendlies before they face either Flora Talinn or Lincoln Red Imps in the second qualifying round first leg of the Champions League on Tuesday 12th July.

The second leg is scheduled for the 19th July.
