Rodgers targets Championship winger as first Celtic signing

New Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in Hull City and Scotland international winger Robert Snodgrass as his first signing as Hoops boss, according to the Daily Express.

It has been widely circulated that the Northern Irishman will be given a transfer budget of £15million to transform the club’s squad, and although the 28 year old midfielder will line up for Hull against Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship play-off final, Rodgers is confident he can convince the player to join him at Celtic Park despite the prospect of the Tigers being promoted back to the Premier League

Even though Snodgrass signed for Hull City from Norwich in 2014, his appearances have been limited after a dislocated kneecap kept him out for almost the entire 2014/15 season as the club were relegated from the Premier League.

This campaign however, he has played 26 league matches, scoring four goals and providing six assists as the Tigers finished fourth in the Championship table.
