New Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wants to make Reading first team coach Chris Davies his first appointment for a new look backroom staff set-up at Celtic Park, according to the Daily Record.
Rodgers worked with Davies both at Swansea and Liverpool and would like to join up with him again at the Scottish club.
Davies, is currently working under Reading manager Brian McDermott at the Championship club and compensation would be required to ensure that the coach can depart the Madejski Stadium and become part of the coaching setup at Parkhead.
Although Rodgers was only announced as manager of Celtic on Friday, the Northern Irishman is wasting no time in ensuring he has the right people around him.
With John Collins departing the club alongside Ronny Deila, he will be looking for an assistant manager as well, with Colin Pascoe (his assistant at Liverpool and Swansea) a possible target.
With the Champions League qualification rounds in mid July, Rodgers will want to have all his coaching staff, and most of his own players, in place before what may prove to be the most important matches of the season at the start of the campaign.
