During the summer transfer window just gone, Celtic rejected a bid made by Fulham for Dedryck Boyata, as reported by the BBC.

The Scottish giants rejected the Premier League side’s advance, and now, after the transfer window has firmly shut, Boyata remains with the Bhoys. However, the Celtic fans’ opinion of Boyata soured in the wake of this collapsed move amid claims that the 27-year-old was refusing to play in protest at being forced to stay at the club - an accusation the player denied, claiming to be injured, as reported by DH Net.

Boyata has subsequently returned to the Celtic line up, and even scored a winning goal against Hamilton to mark his first appearance of the season. In the very same match, a banner was unfurled amongst the Celtic supporters bearing the message “Boyata - Not fit to wear the jersey”, as reported by The Sun.

It now looks as though there will be no forgiveness for the defender with the club, and Brendan Rodgers ought to regret not having cashed in on Boyata when he had the chance.

What do you think, Celtic fans - does Boyata deserve a second chance at Celtic Park or should the club have taken the money on offer from Fulham?
