Manchester United are already making plans for left-back Patrice Evra’s understudy in Honduras and Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre.
The 25 year old only joined the Scottish outfit last season but has made an impact both defensively and in an attacking capacity leaving the Old Trafford side little choice but to monitor his situation closely with the possibility of a move next summer.
Many had felt that a left back would be covered by Sir Alex Ferguson this summer however the record breaking manager has decided that there is already enough quality for this season with the likes of Evra and Jonny Evans, plus the Brazilian youngsters Fabio or Rafael also able to play in that positions.
His value will very much depend on his performances for Celtic when he returns from injury, but with Evra now at 30 years of age it is likely that a new left-back will be the focus of Manchester United’s scouting team throughout the remainder of 2011.
