The Scottish Sun are reporting that Celtic may only have to pay £500,000 to Fulham for new signing Moussa Dembele.
The Frenchman signed for the Scottish Champions yesterday on a Bosman deal, but as he is under 23 the club are obliged to pay compensation for the out of contract player.
Because it is a cross border transfer though, Celtic will have to pay a lot less than any English club. It was the same situation as when Jordan Rossiter joined Rangers from Liverpool last month.
Fulham will surely be regretting the collapse of Dembele’s £5m transfer to Tottenham in January, which only failed because of their demand to have the player loaned back to them for the rest of the season.
Many have already described the signing of Dembele as a coup for the Scottish club and after scoring 15 goals in the English Championship last season at the age of 19, there are great expectations he will progress further at Celtic Park to become a top player.
