Wigan Athletic are in a dominant position to sign Celtic midfielder Scott Allan according to The Scottish Sun, with the League One side to try and take the 24-year-old on a year-long loan deal.
The former Scotland under-21 international is regarded as a rising star of the national game and joined the national champions from Hibs in 2015.
However, since moving to Celtic Park Allan has found regular first-team football hard to come by.
He has started only one league game so far this season, with 11 cameos from the bench all that he has to show for his campaign.
The report suggests that Latics boss Gary Caldwell wants Allan in his side for next season and will use his connections from playing at the Glasgow club to make the move happen.
Wigan are currently top of the English third tier and as such will look to strengthen for an assault on the Championship in 2016-17.
