Rangers have enjoyed a fine start to life under Steven Gerrard, with the icing on the cake being the qualification for the Europa League group stages.

A blow was suffered prior to the international break though as Rangers suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Celtic in the first Old Firm clash of the season, which leaves Gerrard's side four points adrift of the defending champions.

Gerrard made a host of signings over the course of the summer and one of his most impressive additions was capturing midfielder Lassana Coulibaly on loan from French side Angers - and The Scottish Sun suggest Rangers will look to make his move permanent.

Signed in July, the 6ft tall Coulibaly has featured in two league matches and three Europa League games for Rangers so far, with Gerrard's side winning three of those fixtures and drawing the other two - conceding just three goals with the defensive midfielder in the side.

It is clear that the 22-year-old could have a great future ahead of him at Rangers and Gerrard should certainly push to bring the talented midfielder in on a permanent basis. Do you agree? Share your thoughts in our poll below...
