Jermain Defoe scored for Rangers again this weekend and the fans are loving his form in the early stages of the campaign.

The 36-year-old scored his side's only goal in the 1-1 draw with Championship side Blackburn Rovers, but his opener was cancelled out by a Lewis Travis strike from 12 yards for Tony Mowbray's side.

The friendly goal now means that the Englishman has five goals in five games for Steven Gerrard's side since returning from pre-season. Strikes against Oxford United, Marseille, St. Joseph's and now Blackburn mean the forward is on fire going into the new season.

As well the goals in the pre-season matches and the Europa League tie, Defoe scored the winner in a behind-closed-doors game this summer. His first-half opener was the only goal of the game against the Welsh side TNS.

Alfredo Morelos has of course been linked with an exit from Ibrox, so Defoe's goalscoring prowess could well prove to be absolutely crucial this season.

While it's only pre-season and St. Joseph's of Gibraltar, the veteran striker's form has got these Rangers fans very excited indeed...
