Rangers earned a fine 5-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon at Ibrox as they moved to one point behind current league leaders in Scotland, Celtic.

The Gers put the Dons to the sword with goals from James Tavernier, Alfredo Morelos, Greg Stewart and Jermain Defoe doing the damage whilst the Hoops could only draw 1-1 with Hibernian at Easter Road.

A fine weekend for the Gers on the whole, then, though it could well have been marred by bad news involving one of the game's goalscorers: Defoe.

Indeed, after the clash he was involved in a traffic collision, but the Gers have taken to Twitter to reveal that no serious injuries were caused by the incident:

Naturally, Rangers fans were relieved by this news given the importance of the striker to their side as well as the obvious connotations of what a traffic accident can lead to.

Defoe is okay, though, and so are the others involved in the incident, with Gers fans taking to Twitter to reflect on the upbeat update.
