Jak Alnwick has joined Blackpool on loan, Rangers have confirmed, and lots of fans have been reacting to the announcement.
Alnwick joins the League One side for a season with his Ibrox future uncertain – he is behind the likes of Allan McGregor and Wes Foderingham in the pecking order, though their superior age may mean Alnwick has more chances in the future.
The 26-year-old’s contract at the Gers expires next summer and it’s unknown if he’ll be offered a new deal; a strong showing out on loan will surely do his chances no harm.
The keeper spent last season on loan in League One, playing 43 games for Scunthorpe United. The former Newcastle stopper will be hoping for a better time in England’s third tier this time around though, as the Iron were relegated on the final day of the season.
Here’s what the Rangers fans had to say after his future was confirmed on Twitter, with some hoping for a successful loan spell and others questioning the move…
Best of luck Jak, Blackpool have signed a very capable GK imo,it’s a shame he didn’t get more minutes for us,bit he had 2 very Reliable GKs above him @ Ibrox sadly, hope he does well & comes back to the gers in 12 months time ??⚪?

Why can’t we just sell these fringe players, like I can see Dodoo and Holt going out on loan again
