It was an emotional affair at Ibrox on Thursday evening, as Rangers took to the pitch for the first time since the passing of their former player Fernando Ricksen.
The Dutchman passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with motor neurone disease, and the football community mourned the life of a great player.
Of course, Rangers paid tribute to the former SPFA Player of the Year with a minute’s silence, and they put on a performance in the Europa League that he would have been proud of.

Indeed, the Glasgow outfit beat Feyenoord 1-0 courtesy of a first-half Sheyi Ojo goal, and the goalscorer took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late Rangers legend.

Ojo dedicated his goal to Ricksen and his family, and he stated that he hoped the team gave him a perfect send off.
It was rather fitting that Rangers were facing off against a Dutch side on Thursday evening, and the team’s battling performance was the perfect tribute to Ricksen.
