Rangers lost further ground in the race for the SPFL title on Sunday as St Johnstone scored an equaliser ten minutes from time to secure a result which looks certain to condemn Steven Gerrard and his players to another season in Celtic's shadow.

Florian Kamberi inspired a second-half turnaround and provided Joe Aribo with an assist to put the Gers ahead with just shy of 20 minutes left to play, but the visitors failed to hold on and now sit 12 points adrift of the Hoops with a game in hand.

It's no coincidence that Rangers' struggle for results since returning from the winter break in Dubai has coincided with a tangible decline in Alfredo Morelos' output.

The Colombia international hasn't scored a single league goal in 2020 and is clearly struggling for confidence on the pitch.

And in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw on Sunday, plenty of supporters on Twitter vocalised their displeasure at Morelos' form of late.

One fan suggested he is a liability while another criticised his body language, which has become increasingly concerning during his barren spell in front of goal.

It must be said, though, that Morelos recently opened up about the racist abuse he has suffered during his time in Scotland and it's certainly plausible to suggest that he has become disillusioned after two-and-a-half years at the club.

Other fans, meanwhile, went a step further in their analysis.

One urged the club to sell the striker who has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season and others expressed similar sentiments, with concerns over his attitude and failure to step up at vital moments prompting suggestions of a summer exit.
