According a report by The Scottish Sun, Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie is January transfer target for English Championship club Swansea City, and even though Steven Gerrard is a big fan, he will surely change his stance if the price is right.

What's the word, then?

Well, The Scottish Sun report that the Welsh outfit are keen to bring the 20-year-old to the Liberty Stadium before the end of the month, with Swans boss Graham Potter said to be a big fan of the 6ft 3in player.

However, The Scottish Sun say that Gerrard has no intention of letting his man, who is contracted until 2022, leave Ibrox for the deadline, even though he has largely found himself behind the likes of Ryan Jack and Lassana Coulibaly in the pecking order and has found game time hard to come by so far during the current campaign.

The report adds that Swansea are likely to watch McCrorie in action when Gers face Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup after the winter break.

Will Gerrard sell?

Despite the fact that the Liverpool legend is reportedly a big fan of the midfielder who he praised following the goalless draw against Hibernian last month, he has still only featured for 506 minutes across nine Scottish Premiership appearances this term.

Given the Glasgow giants are also said to be closing in on pre-contract deal for Glenn Kamara, surely Gerrard will be tempted to cash in if the price for McCrorie is right – he has previously said that every Rangers player has his price.

Swansea would need to submit an acceptable offer, but given they have Premier League parachute payments behind them following their relegation last season, that may not be out of the question if Potter really likes the 20-year-old.
